License terms
LICENSE TERMS
ASKY
Last updated: 15 October 2026
1. HOW LICENSING WORKS
ASKY sells permission to use beats under the license selected at checkout. You purchase usage rights, rather than ownership of the underlying beat or its copyright.
Read the individual agreement before purchasing. It specifies the included files, permitted uses, duration, territory, usage limits, credit requirements and any royalty obligations.
That agreement controls the musical rights granted for your purchase. These general License Terms do not expand or reduce rights expressly stated in it. Mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.
2. LICENSE TYPES
MP3 LICENSE
A non-exclusive license that includes an untagged MP3 where listed. It permits the uses described in the individual agreement, subject to its limits. Other artists may license the same beat.
WAV LICENSE
A non-exclusive license that includes the audio formats listed at checkout, typically MP3 and WAV. Its permitted uses and limits are defined in the individual agreement.
TRACKOUT LICENSE
A non-exclusive license that includes the listed audio files and separated stems, supplied as a ZIP archive where specified. Stems allow more detailed mixing and arrangement within the permitted project. They cannot be redistributed or sold as standalone production material.
EXCLUSIVE LICENSE
An exclusive license grants the rights described in its individual agreement and stops ASKY from issuing new licenses for the beat as specified there.
Licenses granted before the exclusive purchase remain valid under their original terms. Exclusive licensing does not cancel those artists’ rights.
ASKY and the relevant rights holders retain ownership of the underlying beat unless a separate written agreement expressly transfers copyright. Any required signing formalities must be completed.
Only license options currently offered for a beat are available for purchase.
3. PERMITTED USES
You may record vocals, mix, arrange, release, monetise, perform or synchronise a beat only to the extent permitted by your purchased agreement.
The agreement determines how many songs or projects you may create and any limits on streams, sales, videos, performances, broadcasts or other uses.
Permission for a music video does not automatically include advertising, film, television, games or other commercial synchronisation uses. Check your agreement or contact ASKY before using the beat in an additional context.
A preview or producer-tagged stream is provided for listening and evaluation. Access to it does not grant permission to release or commercially exploit the beat.
4. RESTRICTIONS
Unless your agreement expressly permits otherwise, you must not:
• Resell, share, sublicense or redistribute the underlying beat, stems or other supplied production files as standalone material.
• Upload the files to sample libraries, beat marketplaces, download collections or other services that make them available for reuse.
• Claim that you exclusively created or own the underlying beat.
• Grant another person rights that exceed your own license.
• Use the beat beyond the projects, duration, territories or usage limits covered by your agreement.
You may provide files to engineers and other collaborators as reasonably necessary to complete your permitted project. They receive no independent right to reuse or distribute the beat.
5. PRODUCER AND COLLABORATOR CREDITS
Follow the credit wording in your individual agreement. Where ASKY and co-producers are identified, credit all required contributors in release metadata and other locations specified by that agreement.
Visible producer credits and copyright ownership shares are separate matters. A collaborator’s name on a product page does not, by itself, establish a songwriting percentage.
Do not submit registrations that falsely identify you as the sole creator or owner of the underlying composition.
6. ROYALTIES AND SONGWRITING
The upfront license price and any continuing royalty obligations are separate.
Any recording-income royalty must be expressly stated in the individual agreement, including its rate, any threshold, the income covered and the reporting or payment requirements. These general terms do not impose an additional recording-income royalty.
Songwriting and publishing shares are separate from recording income and streaming limits. Any applicable shares must be stated or separately agreed by the relevant parties. No universal percentage is established by these general terms.
Producer collaboration splits do not automatically determine the artist’s share in a finished song.
7. STREAMING AND OTHER USAGE LIMITS
Monitor the usage covered by your agreement and contact askyprod@gmail.com before exceeding a limit.
An upgrade, extension or additional permission requires agreement. Going over a limit does not automatically grant unlimited rights or create a new royalty arrangement.
Where your agreement expressly provides continued use subject to royalties after a threshold, that provision applies according to its stated conditions.
8. CONTENT ID AND AUTOMATIC CLAIMING
MP3, WAV and Trackout licenses do not permit registration of the beat, or a recording containing it, in YouTube Content ID or similar automatic claiming systems.
This restriction concerns automated copyright claims. It does not prevent ordinary distribution or monetisation expressly allowed by your license.
An Exclusive license may permit automatic claiming only where its agreement expressly allows it and the recording meets the platform’s eligibility rules.
Before registration, confirm that all necessary rights are cleared, including rights in samples and loops. An Exclusive license does not guarantee Content ID eligibility.
You must not claim against ASKY, co-producers or artists whose earlier licenses remain valid. Any permitted claiming arrangement must include appropriate measures to prevent or release such claims.
9. SAMPLES AND THIRD-PARTY MATERIAL
Any known material restrictions or additional clearance requirements affecting the advertised use must be disclosed before purchase.
You are responsible for clearing material you add yourself, including vocals, samples and other recordings.
If a release-specific clearance requirement is identified in the product description or agreement, obtain that clearance before the affected use. Nothing in this section excludes ASKY’s responsibility for supplying the rights promised.
Contact ASKY if a distributor raises a rights issue or you receive a conflicting claim. Keep your agreement and proof of purchase available.
10. DURATION, UPGRADES AND BREACH
Your license lasts for the period stated in its agreement. Expiry of a download link does not shorten that period.
Upgrades and renewals are subject to availability and an express agreement. A later exclusive sale does not, by itself, terminate an earlier valid non-exclusive license.
Any suspension, termination, opportunity to remedy a breach or consequence of termination is governed by the individual agreement and applicable law. These general terms do not create an additional automatic cancellation right.
11. PURCHASE RECORDS AND SUPPORT
Keep your order confirmation, license agreement and proof of payment. The agreement accepted for your order applies; later website changes do not retrospectively reduce those rights.
Payment, delivery, withdrawal, complaints and statutory remedies are addressed in the Terms of Sale.
